This vodka may not have the strongest alcohol kick but sure enough it can put you on your ass. Master of Malt has been producing a line of spicy vodkas that rank pretty high in Scoville Heat Units. Last year they released the world’s hottest vodka with a measurment of 100,000 Scoville’s. This year they decided to more than double that with a vodka at 250,000 Scoville’s.
This latest creation is made with Naga Jolokia pepper, a.k.a. the infamous Ghost Pepper which can can range between 330,000 and well over 1,000,000 on the Scoville scale and is the second hottest pepper in the world after the Trinidad Moruga Scorpion. The Ghost Pepper is no joke.
“The guys in production have gas masks,” says creator Ben Ellefsen. “No exaggeration.”
Both Gizmodo and Master of Malt however warn against drinking this stuff straight. The combination of the alcohol and the peppers can be bad, real bad. That being said, the guys over at Gizmodo bit the bullet and recently did a taste test of this intense vodka as a mixer, a sip, and a shot. Check out their awesome video and tasting notes.
