Tickets for one of America’s biggest beer festivals went on sale August 2nd and within 45 minutes all 49,000 tickets were sold out! That brings in roughly $3 million in revenue and tickets are already appearing on Ebay for anywhere between $300-$700 .
There was however a bit of a mixup regarding the pre-sale tickets though. A few days before sales were opened to the public, members of the Brewers Association were given the chance to get tickets. However, a technical glitch with Ticketmaster gave the public the ability to purchase.
GABF reported that only 21 tickets were sold to non-public members. Still they are pleasantly surprised at how fast the event sold out. They reported “that in 2007, the festival sold out the week of the event, while the 2011 event sold out in only one week. And here we are in 2012, with a blazing fast Members-Only session sell-out.”
