Did you know beer can be used for other purposes besides great taste and a good buzz? Like we need another reason to love beer. But here are 5 healthy ways to use beer.

1. Wash your body or condition your hair

Beer is has proteins which help with skin and dry hair by adding weight and shine. However, since alcohol will dry your hair more than it will help it is advised to boil the beer before hand to cook off some of the alcohol. Cool of the beer and treat your hair between shampoo and conditioner.

2. Soothe your tough soles.

There a many spas that specialize in a particular type of treatment that consist of soaking in beer and water. The yeast softens the skin and the alcohol kills bacteria and microbes. Try soaking your feet in a mixture of beer and warm water for fifteen minutes.

3. Settle your stomach.

Men’s Health reports that the carbonation in beer is said to help settle upset stomachs, just like 7 Up or Sprite.

5. Make a healthy main course for dinner.

Using beer with cooking can produce some tasty results. Once recipe suggest cooking a whole chicken on top of a half-can of beer.

6. Help yourself get some shut-eye.

The smell of hops is said to cause drowsiness and is said to have similar effects as other natural sleep aids like chamomile.
